Entertainment | Updated: 14/11/2013 |
Chickenshed Kensington & Chelsea will be celebrating Winter with a presentation of their collaboration with the Royal College of Music on Tuesday 26 November at 7pm at Chelsea Academy. This new piece of theatre is called Winter Winds. Winter Winds is a collection of musical pieces that rejoice in winter, the changing seasons and the rhythm of life. Chickenshed Artistic Team have worked alongside exceptionally talented musicians from the Sparks Programme at the Royal College of Music to devise these original seasonal arrangements. The children, who are all from Chickenshed's Childrens Theatre group aged from 7 – 9 years, will be presenting the results to their parents, families, friends and supporters on Tuesday. Chickenshed Kensington and Chelsea’s Musical Director, Ruari Glasheen has been successfully working together with the Kensington based musicians Edwin Hillier, Steph Bissell and Sarah Joyce to deliver educational programmes using music. These musicians are all prolific in the classical music industry and have won numerous scholarships for their striking talents. Ruari joined Chickenshed last year after receiving formal training in music in his home town of Cork and then moving to London to study at the Royal College of Music. Ruari plays a variety of styles including classical, contemporary, world, jazz, folk, Latin and pop. He has worked with music education departments across the UK including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and he is currently a member of Live Music Now with folk group Tir Eolas.
