Register to vote in Council Elections

Information

Residents who want to vote in the Council elections on Thursday 3rd May 2018 must be registered by Tuesday 17th April 2018.

Once registered residents can take part in the Council elections and have their voice heard about issues in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

To vote in the Council election you must:

  • Be registered to vote.
  • Be 18 or over on the day of the election ('Polling Day').
  • Be a British, Commonwealth or EU citizen.
  • Be resident at an address in the area you wish to vote in.
  • Not be legally excluded from voting.

There will be no change to the rights and status of EU nationals living in the UK, nor UK nationals living in the EU, while the UK remains in the EU.

Councillors are elected using the First Past the Post system. You vote for one or more candidates in your local area and the candidates with the most votes win.

The last date to register to vote is Tuesday 17th April 2018.

Residents of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea can check if they are on the register by contacting the Electoral Services Team at elect@rbkc.gov.uk or by calling (020) 7361 3444 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
