Council approves increase in heating charges

Estate Management

The Council's cabinet member for housing, Cllr. Coleridge, has approved this year's proposed increase in heating and hot water charges for those residents with communal heating systems.

The amount the Council/TMO pay for gas (as used by the communal heating system's boilers) has increased from 2.39p/kWh to 2.79p/kWh for large estates; an increase of 16.9%.

This increase is to be passed on to both tenants and leaseholders in the form of an increased heating and hot water charge for tenants and an increased service charge for leaseholders.

Tenants and leaseholders can expect to be formally notified of the increase by the TMO shortly.
