The World's End Estate

Farewell John Rendall, you will be missed

WERA

It is with the deepest sorrow that we have to announce the passing of our dear friend and neighbour, John Rendall.

John was a wonderful neighbour. He loved the estate and his heart was always on looking after and improving it for everyone.

John served on the Committee of the World's End Residents Association for over fifteen years. He served a term as the Association's Secretary and another as the Association's Chairman. He took to both roles enthusiastically and with a great deal of energy, and did them in his own unique style.

In recent years John had focused his energies on the Chelsea Theatre, the former Community Centre next to the estate. The Theatre has been wonderfully refurbished and regenerated thanks, in no small part, to John's involvement, enthusiasm and energy.

And we all remember, of course, his tales of Christian, the lion that lived very close by, in the furniture shop called Sophisticat located on the site of what is now the World's End Pharmacy.

Farewell John Rendall. You will be missed.
