The right-to-manage process on World's End is nearing completion. We may soon have our own estate-based management organisation to manage the estate on our behalf.

The story so far….

The WEMO board with the help of their appointed agent, PPCR, have now completed the training required for an estate-based management organisation as well as negotiated the bulk of the Modular Management Agreement with the Council. The appointed agent has now submitted their final report. If the Council have no substantive objections to the content of the report then the next stage will be a ballot.

Ballot?

Yes, the last hurdle to overcome before WEMO can manage the estate on our behalf is a ballot. The ballot will ask every resident on the estate, whether tenant or leaseholder, if they are in favour of a local, estate-based management organisation (WEMO) managing the World’s End Estate. The ballot is expected to take place during November and December 2003.

As we believe a local, estate-based management organisation is the only way things on World’s End will truly change for the better we urge all residents to vote YES.

Join WEMO

If you have not already done so we need you to show your support for a locally managed estate by becoming members of WEMO, the not-for-profit organisation that we, the residents, created to manage the estate on our behalf.

You can do this by either downloading a copy of the WEMO application form (and returning it to us at WEMO, 16 Blantyre Street, World’s End Estate, London SW10 0DS once complete), by registering your interest online or by contacting us at: WEMO, 16 Blantyre Street, World’s End Estate, London SW10 0DS.

We need as many residents as possible to join WEMO; it will not only ensure that WEMO will be truly accountable to all residents on the estate but also send a strong message of support for a local, estate-based management organisation to the Council.

The board of WEMO is made up of residents who are voluntarily giving up their free time to help make the dream of a World’s End Estate managed by and for residents a reality.
